When I arrived at 11:30 am, this is where the sun was ... it means the little lettuce patch does get a fair amount of shade and then some sun which is perfect!
I spent about 2 hours pulling weeds and aerating the soil in a 4 x 10' area before dumping one and a half loads of zoo poo. After I punched a few holes in the soaker hose I put the red mulch plastic over it but decided not to plant the tomatoes I'd brought because it was still too hot and I wasn't sticking around to water and rewater.
